Evan's Favorite Present

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We sure did at our house.  It's been a whirlwind of activity and I finally have a moment today to rest!  Jarom and I found a really good deal on a train table and got one for Evan for Christmas.  We thought for sure that it would be the favorite present and he wouldn't even care about the other presents and would play with his train table all day!  We were wrong!  Chaundra got him the Bubble King, who knew that would be his favorite present!  As soon as he realized what giant bubbles it would make he promptly went over to his train table, picked up his little stop light, and ran over to use it as a popper!  I'm glad my present came in handy for him :)  Then he proceeded to pop the bubbles with his stop light, and other body parts, including his foot, and his tongue.  It was so cute.  Now he asks on a daily basis, "Bubble, Bubble, Bubble?"  I usually give in, because he's so cute when he asks :)

The Pictures You've All Been Waiting For.....

Here are the pictures of our ugly sweater contest!  Our friend hosted a Christmas Party last week and we had an ugly sweater contest.  Our friend Mark won, it must have been his tight, manly brown turtleneck!  It was a lot of fun, thanks again Lacey and Eric!

Best Birthday Ever!

Jarom got me the best birthday present ever, tickets to Celine for me and Chaundra!  Then at the last minute our friend who works for ticketmaster called and said she put 4 tickets on hold for me!  So then I had 6 tickets!  They were such good seats and the concert of course was amazing.  The only thing that could have made it better would be if my Cornelison girls were with me!!!!!!!

A Highschool Tag

Well, it's a slow day at work for me (Jarom), so what the heck...

I've never done a tag, but this one bring up some memories. Thanks Kara.

1. DID YOU DATE SOMEONE FROM YOUR SCHOOL? No. I did have a girlfriend for most of my High School years--What up Whit!?!

2. WHAT KIND OF CAR DID YOU DRIVE? I had the sweetest ride; 1985 Nissan p/u. It was tan on the outside and vinyl on the inside. I put a "HO" (water ski) sticker ont he back window, and we all called it the "Freaky HO". I put so many miles on that thing driving from Sac to Hanford.

3. DID YOU PASS YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE TEST YOUR FIRST TRY? Yup! Took my drive test in a 1993 Ford Bronco. The driving-tester-lady almost refused to go on the test with me. She was going on and on about how Broncos roll-over too easy and kill people. She thougth I was being a smart-ass when I told her that those were the Bronco II's.

4. WHERE YOU A PARTY ANIMAL? No. Always hung out with my Mo friends.

5. WERE YOU CONSIDERED A FLIRT? Dude, I was soooo shy. I got over it by the end of High School.

6. WERE YOU IN BAND, ORCHESTRA, OR CHOIR? Close. I was in GALENA-- a performing group, not part of high school. We got teased about it being "GAY-lena".

7. WERE YOU A NERD? I did alright with my grades, but far from a nerd.

8. WERE YOU ON ANY VARSITY TEAMS? Soccer.

9. DID YOU EVER GET SUSPENDED/EXPELLED? No, but I got pretty close.

10. CAN YOU STILL SING THE FIGHT SONG? Can't say we had one. I'm sure we did, but my school sucked! It was totally gangsta!

11. WHO WERE YOUR FAVORITE TEACHERS? I can't recall a single one. Must not have that big of an impact on me.

12. WHERE DID YOU SIT FOR LUNCH? Lunch was always spent in the quad, ducking seagull poop.

13. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S FULL NAME? I spent the forst three years at Florin (South Sacramento). The first semester of my Senior year was spent at Hanford (Hanford, CA). The last semester was spent at Roseville (Roseville, CA).

14. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S MASCOT AND COLORS?
Florin: Panthers/Maroon and Gold
Hanford: Bull-pups/Red and White
Roseville: Tigers/Black and Orange

15. DID YOU GO TO HOMECOMING AND WITH WHO? Never went to Florin homecoming--mostly because I didn't want to get shot. I always went with my girlfriend, Whitney at El Camino.

16. IF YOU COULD GO BACK AND DO IT AGAIN WOULD YOU? Not at Florin. My experience there has shortened my life expectancy.

17. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER MOST ABOUT GRADUATION DAY? I rememeber not knowing anyone. I only spent one semester there. During that time I only had 4 classes, and I hardly went to any of them.

18. WHERE DID YOU GO SENIOR SNEEK? Everyday was Senior Sneek. I went to tons of places: my girlfriends school, golfing, Nevada--anywhere really.

19. HAVE YOU GAINED SOME WEIGHT SINCE THEN? Yes. I graduated HS as a bean pole: 6'1", 160 lbs. Now I'm 6' (lost an inch due to 2 back surgeries), 220 lbs.

20. WHO WAS YOUR PROM DATE? Didn't go to my prom(s). But I went to El Camino.

21. ARE YOU PLANNING ON GOING TO YOUR 10 YEAR REUNION? Alreay past--so NO.

23. DID YOU HAVE A JOB IN HIGH SCHOOL? I worked durring the summers at Royal Electric in the warehouse. It was dirty grunt work, but it paid decent. I refused to work in fast food or retail.

Now it is your turn! Stay tuned for Charla's.

Trip To Cali Part One

I know it's been a long time since I've posted so this is kind of a long one.  We went to Cali for Thanksgiving and these are the pics from part one of our trip.  I'll post the rest when I find some more pictures :)  We had a good drive out, the kids did great!  I couldn't have done it without Haleigh.  I just can't say enough how great she is with Evan and how nice it was to have her on this trip.  She's like a big sister to him.  We spent the first few days in Hanford with Jarom's parents.  We went to see Santa, of course Evan wanted nothing to do with him.......

Went to the play area at the mall, Evan is trying to ignore the camera.......

The guys spent one day quadding in Hollister.......
Haleigh and Evan found a new game they love, Twister!  All the adults were sore after Haleigh made us play for hours! We had three adults who've had knee surgery, one about to have knee surgery, one with 2 back surgeries.  We were a sad sight :)

Evan and Haleigh loved the swing set and tramp outside, Evan screamed every time we made him come inside.  He also, of course, refused to wear any type of sweatshirt or jacket.

They found a new hiding spot behind grandma's couch :) Yes, Evan did biff it on the concrete outside and had a big goose egg on his forehead.  It  was so sad, every morning when he woke up he would point at it with a really sad face.  He just wanted to remind me that he was injured and then he would want me to kiss it.  So sweet!

Of course the pool table was a big hit........

This is my favorite pic.  I came out to check on them and they were holding hands watching TV.  It was so very cute :)
After a few days in Hanford we headed up to Sac for the rest of our trip.  Stay tuned for the rest!  I have to locate some pictures before I can blog about it :)

Roar!

So Evan was running around the house all morning putting his Stegosaurus in his T-Rex's mouth yelling Roar and eating each other!  He thought he was so funny, so when I got the video camera out, he did something a little different.  It was so funny, he is such a boy.  If you turn it up and listen at the end you can hear him say uh-oh, which is one of his few words :)

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!  Evan was a skeleton for Halloween.  We didn't know when we bought the costume a month ago that it was going to be 85 degrees at night on Halloween!  Evan was pretty sweaty!  Needless to say, he wouldn't wear his hood.  He had fun though.  We went to our ward trunk or treat.  At first he was a little apprehensive to go up to people, but then when he realized they were giving him candy  he started going to each car by himself.  He, however, would not let the people put the candy in his bag.  He would snatch it from them when they got close, and put it in his bag himself :)
