Visit from G'ma and G'pa Martin

We were so lucky to have Jarom's parents come stay with us for a couple days last week. The video below pretty much sums up Evan's time with Grandma and Grandpa. He LOVED every second of it and laughed the whole time! He loved doing projects with Grandma and being silly with Grandpa :) On the morning they left, Evan came into my room and said, Where's Grandma and Grandpa? I said, they left buddy, they got up really early and left to go back home. He just fell on the floor crying saying, But I love Grandma and Grandpa! It was the saddest thing you ever saw! He's counting down the days till the next visit!

Utah!

A couple of weeks ago we went to Utah to visit friends and family. We stayed with our BFF's Codee and Randy. We had so much fun! We love those guys, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! We miss living within walking distance of them :) WE had a week o' fun. We got to meet up with Jarom's Uncle Jeff and Aunt Becki and cousins for a 4th of July BBQ and delicious dessert (I still need that recipe Becki!) The next day we got up way early to go to this hot air balloon festival. It was so neat seeing all the balloons being blown up and taking off, Evan LOVED it! We had a yummy breakfast at Kneaders, the guys went disc golfing, and later Codee and I went to see Eclipse. And that's just day 2!
The next day we took the kids to a huge indoor bounce place, Evan had sooo much fun with Jamison! That night hung out with my cousin Erin and her cutie pie son, Seth :) The next day the guys took the boys fishing. Then our really good friends Jeff and Emily and fam came down to hang out. We miss them so much too! We all headed up the canyon and roasted hot dogs and had smores and the kids ran a muck and we all just had a good old time! Although I am still HORRIFIED at some of the paramedic stories Randy and Jeff were telling. I am traumatized for life :)
Thursday we had a grand plan to go to Park City and do the zip line and the alpine slide. We drove all the way there and right in between Jarom buying our tickets and Randy buying his they shut it all down due to lightning up on the mountain! We hung out for a while hoping it would pass but alas it did not so we drove all the way there for some good old taco bell and rocky mountain chocolate factory! When we got home the boys went to see Toy Story 3 while Codee and I went shopping :)
Ironically my bro Russ and his fam was in Utah too. So on Friday we all met at a park and the guys disc golfed and the girls hung out at the playground with the kids and we had a picnic and just had fun relaxing. The next day we left :( We had a blast and of course played cards every night! Evan had so much fun, Jamison is like his long lost brother :) Evan is still talking about his friend Jamison and wears the shirts Jamison gave him EVERY chance he gets! Thanks again to the Bells for their awesome hospitality! We love you guys!
The next day we headed to Vegas for a layover :) We hung out with Jarom's uncle Kal and aunt Miki and got to see their sweet new baby :) We had a great time and a delicious BBQ. Evan had so much fun with Karter and is still talking about going to primary with him :) (He went to sunbeams with Karter cause he didn't want to go to nursery alone). Then, sadly, we had to head home. We had a blast and will definitely have to do it again sometime! Here's a few pics from our trip!

Preschool Here We Come!

Evan starts preschool next week! Yikes! I could have a nervous breakdown just thinking about it. My little baby isn't so little anymore; every time I turn around he's a little bit more grown up. I can't take it! He is so smart though I am really looking forward to seeing him learn and grow during the next couple of years. He just turned 3 a few months ago and he is writing the whole alphabet and he'll copy any words or sentences I write! It's amazing! He must get it from me :) Here's a little pic of him after he wrote his name; he just learned his last name so he wanted to write it. And, p.s. for those of you who remember his quazimodo smile when you say cheese! This is his new smile when you pull the camera out! Ummm, slightly better :) At least his eyes are open!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my honey! Today we're celebrating 8 years! It doesn't even seem like 8 years to me, which I guess is a good thing :) Happy Anniversary babe! I love you! Here's a few pics to take a walk down memory lane!

This is what makes being a mom totally worth it!

Haleigh and Evan are so sweet. I've been so sick the last few days and been like a zombie on the couch. They disappeared for a while yesterday. Normally that would be cause for concern but I was too sick to care. Then they came in an hour later and handed me these Get Well cards that they made :) It just melted my heart. I love these two kids! And if you look closely at the cards you can see just how sick I was! They drew me with a giant frowny face in some sort of body bag on a coffin like black operating table! What's up with that :) Then they drew themselves each handing me a get well card :) Aren't they cute???!!!!!

Evan Swimming!

We just got back from Palm Springs! We spent a few days with The Bairs and had so much fun (except for the part where I got food poisoning and was up all night doing you know what, and you know what; but no one wants to hear about that!) Of course the kids favorite part was swimming at the pool everyday. Here's a little video of Evan swimming. The quality isn't great because it was sent from my phone by you can get the idea. He is such a little fish! He has always loved the water and been very comfortable and he is pretty much swimming now on his own! It never ceases to amaze me what little kids can do! Thanks to Heather for inviting us to Palm Springs, it was a blast!

Summer!

So this is what we've been up to! The pool, splash pad, slip and slide, and more pool! Evan is becoming such a good swimmer, he wants to be in the water all the time! Words cannot describe how much I love these guys! The other day I asked Evan if he wanted to have a baby at our house (I'm not pregnant people don't get your hopes up) He said, No. I said, you don't want a little brother or little sister? He said, I have a sister. I said, really? Who? He said, Haleigh's my sister mom! It just about melted my heart, she is like a member of our family and we love having her around :) Chaundra and I are headed to Palm Springs in few days with Evan and Haleigh to hang out with The Bairs! Really looking forward to it! That's Haleigh in the picture in case you can't tell! I couldn't get them all to look at the same time!
