Easter Eggs!

We colored Easter eggs the other day with Evan's friend Evelyn. They did such a great job and turned out so cute, and it kept them entertained for a long time! Easter egg dye kits are so cute and creative now days (not like when I was a kid and all we had was our own food coloring and a wax crayon!) We found a cute kit that had little mini paint rollers that they could use which worked out perfectly! I think I'm going to have to secretly throw these eggs away in a few days because he doesn't realize that this is NOT an art project that we can keep forever! :)

Happy Birthday To My Old Man!

We celebrated Jarom's birthday last week. Evan picked out a present for daddy all by himself and he helped me make the cake and he practiced the Happy Birthday song all day long to have it just right for daddy :) Here's a few pictures of Jarom and his mini me. I swear when they're together like this, I can't help but pick up the camera and just keep taking pictures! P.S. I swear I take the red eye out of every picture but for some reason when I upload to blog the eyes are red again! So annoying!

School Shows!

Last week we had two school shows to attend! Haleigh's 2nd grade class put on a show called Character Counts! It was AWESOME! Their music teacher is AWESOME! Everybody sang, everybody did the moves, they had speaking parts, the songs were fantastic! Chaundra and I were so impressed. Here's just a little snippet. Evan's preschool also did a little show of the songs that they've been working on. It was so adorable! His teacher says he's doing awesome! The school is for 3 years and up but I begged her to give Evan a chance and she says he's the best listener in the whole class! Here's a little of one of the songs.

Bye Bye Binky :(

So, the sad day has come. We said bye bye to the binkys! I've been waiting for just the right time and just the right bribery technique :) I haven't really cared because Evan only uses his binky to fall asleep and then I take it for the rest of the night but I figured we have to take them some time. He's been asking for these two trains, Toby and Diesel, to complete his collection forever. I told him as soon as we bought those two trains he was going to have to trade me for the binkys. He said ok! So Auntie Chaundra bought the trains for him, thank you auntie Chaundra! He went around the house collecting, we taped them up in the box and then we mailed them to all the "babies who need binkys" He named off all of his baby friends and we wrote them on the box and then he put them in daddy's car so they could be mailed! He's done pretty good so far. It's taking him a lot longer to fall asleep (a couple hours!) but I'm hoping that will pass as he gets used to it. He came in my room at 6:30 this morning (which is way earlier than normal!) and said in his sweetest morning voice with puffy eyes, "Mom I slept all night like a big boy!" All the anger I was feeling for him waking up at 6:30 in the morning went away cause he was so proud of himself!

Dr. Seuss Tower!

Well we're finally getting over the plague in our house! Evan's on his 5th day of antibiotics and acting normal again, yeah! We've been sick for about 3 weeks now and run the gamut from high fevers, to puking, to, well you know what comes out the other end! Poor guy :( And I finally have my voice back and sore throat gone! It's amazing how you can take your health for granted! I'm so grateful for our good health!

Anyways, I took these pics a couple of weeks ago and they're so hysterical! One of Evan's favorite movies is Horton Hears A Who. We were at Costco meeting Jarom for dinner (yes we love Costco dinners! It was Haleigh's idea!) We were waiting at the entrance by the TVs for Jarom and a particular part of Horton was playing. Can you guess from the pictures what Evan was trying to do the next morning?????

Yes, build a Dr. Seuss tower! For some reason he wanted to reach the fan (we have vaulted ceilings by the way) He first put his stool on the ottoman, hmmm, not tall enough. And then he had a brilliant idea! Build a Dr. Seuss tower like on Horton! I love the close up, he's got a football, a squirt bottle, donosaurs, books, his flute! You can guess from the next picture what happened. He stepped on it and it all fell over :) He said, "Oh man! I can't reach the fan!" He tried a few more configurations but eventually gave up :) I love how kids minds work!
Here's a picture of Haleigh with her new glasses, isn't she cute!!!!!!!!!

Winter Clothes

So you wouldn't know by looking at my kid that it's 70 degrees here! They had a lesson in preschool about winter and were asked to bring some winter clothes to share. He hasn't taken off his gloves or boots since! It's amazing they still fit! He wore them one time last winter in Flagstaff when we went to the Polar Express. It was all I could do to keep his jacket off him! He's a big sweaty mess! Yesterday he fell asleep while we were reading books and I let him lay on the couch and had to take a picture cause he looks so silly! It's hilarious to watch him; he can't pick anything up cause there's no fingers in the gloves! Just picture it, trying to pick up his toys over and over again :) At least he's getting some use out of them! I was so mad last year that I paid so much money for those so he could walk in the snow once! :)

Family Visit!

I hope the New Year is finding everyone well! So much has happened here that I just couldn't post it all so I'm just skipping it! We had a wonderful Christmas and spent lots of time with family! There that was easy :) Here we all in all our morning glory :)
Just this past week some of my family came into town to visit to see Melanie before she left for her mission. My brother Russ and his wife Darci and their two kids Alexis and Leland, and UNCLE STEVE! Here's a few pics from that. Evan LOVES it when he gets to see his cousins! And he LOVES his Uncle Steve! Sorry to the rest of his uncles, there's just no competition :) We had a lot of fun with them here and went to one of our favorite places, Bounce Jungle! It was too quick of a visit but we had fun! I didn't get too many pictures but here's a few. And for some reason, even though I fixed the red eye, it is posting with red eyes! So annoying!
